Spruce Hill May Fair This Saturday

It’s this Saturday, May 7, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., at Clark Park, Chester Ave. and 43rd St.
Yes, there will be a May Fair again this year — our 53rd Annual Fair in Spruce Hill. The weather bids fair to be, well, fair and lovely.

Our usual spot in Clark Park is fenced off for park upgrading, so we are moving a block south just across Chester Ave. from the Farmer’s Market.

The SHCA Board has decided to put more emphasis on activities for children this year. We are going to expand the children’s games and add a bounce tent and an obstacle course. We’re also planning some music to appeal to kids.

We’ll have the very popular food trucks back again, more books than ever at the Book Sale, and many local artisans and crafts people showing their work — terrific selections for Mother’s Day gifts.

Our Raffle will also be back with great prizes: 1) an iPad 2 with Wi-Fi, 2) the latest model iPod, and 3) a Kindle 3G, all thanks to University Pinball, as well as many other prizes courtesy of other local merchants.

Plus, many local groups and organizations will be touting their work. There are still some vendor spots available — call (215) 349-7825 and leave a message (last year’s vendors got a form in the mail).

We need volunteers to help with the fair: Leave a message at (215) 349-7825 or contact a board member. See you at the May Fair!
