Please join the students of Omega Chi Psi as they host the 7th annual 5k Race for Humanity on March 31st. Walkers are also welcome!
Each year, the fraternity selects a local charity to be the recipient of their fundraising efforts. Since the Race’s inception in 2006, the students have raised nearly $40,000 for selected charities. This year the beneficiary will be the Livengrin Foundation for Addiction Recovery which provides a continuum of care – from detox and inpatient rehab to outpatient and aftercare services. It also provides family counseling services, a DUI education program, and an adolescent reach out program to encourage those at that crucial age of experimentation and fitting-in to avoid addiction. Proceeds from the race will specifically support patient programs and charitable care.
The race begins at 9 am (on-site registration opens at 7:30 am in the ARC) and will be held in The Woodlands Cemetery – a national historic landmark at 40th Street & Woodland Avenue.
For more information and to pre-register, please see www.usciences.edu/5krace. Pre-registered participants will receive a race t-shirt. Water, pretzels and bananas will be provided courtesy of a generous donation from Sodexo.
If you aren’t able to participate in the race but would like to support the students of Omega Chi Psi and the Livengrin Foundation, donations are most welcome and appreciated. Checks can be made out to “Livengrin Foundation” and directed to my attention through inter-office mail (Box #22).
We hope to see you there!
