Join the Philadelphia Parks Alliance to show strong and organized support for Parks and Recreation at the upcoming City Council Budget Hearings. Commissioner Michael DiBernardinis will be testifying, and the PPA wants to pack the Council chambers with Park and Recreation advocates from every neighborhood in the city.
City Council Budget Hearing
on the Department of Parks and Recreation
Tuesday, April 17th
10 am – Noon
City Hall, Room 400
The Parks Alliance and dozens of allied organizations are calling on City Council and the Mayor to restore $8 million to the Department of Parks and Recreation’s budget for FY 2013. This money, gathered through a parking tax increase in 2008, was promised to Parks and Recreation, but it has never been allocated. The current budget– if left unchanged– will be 36% less than what was promised four years ago.
We hope to demonstrate broad-based support for Philadelphia parks with a strong turnout of supporters during the budget hearings. If you could wear a T-shirt for your local park, that’s a plus.
If you want to attend on behalf of Clark Park, please contact Frank Chance at firstname.lastname@example.org, so we can coordinate, keep you up to date, etc.
