I’m happy to let you know that this year’s Dickens Birthday Party in Clark Park is coming up soon (it’s Charles Dickens’ 201st birthday!). Please plan on coming and please tell your friends about it.
The date/time is Sunday, February 3, at 2 pm sharp, at our usual location–the auditorium (Griffith Hall) at University of the Sciences on 43rd Street between Woodland and Chester across from Clark Park.
This year’s program will last about an hour and will feature short readings from Dickens’ fiction and letters. We are still ironing out the details so I can’t tell you everything. But what we have so far looks good–and really different. A few of our great readers from the past are returning along with local actors joining us for the first time. Also joining us will be Ed Petit who served as Philly’s unofficial Dickens ambassador during the 2012 bicentenary celebrations (he is also known as the Philly Poe Guy).
