Nicole Marie Gauthier will present her latest dance project, “Reactions Through Spaces: An Interaction”, April 5 at 12:00 noon, 1:00 pm, and 3:30 pm, in the Central Plaza of Clark Park, 44th & Baltimore.
“Reactions Through Spaces: An Interaction” features the choreography of Nicole Gauthier performed by dancers Paige Gilson, Taylor Grace, Chelsey Hamilton, Ashley Kelly, and Magda Pearl Ostrov. Drawing inspiration from the beauty and history of Clark Park, Gauthier celebrates the arrival of Spring through her joyous, airy movement and whimsical musical selections.
As a site-specific dance, “Reactions Through Spaces: An Interactions” invites the community to come experience the performance and help celebrate Philadelphia’s hidden gem, Clark Park.
The program is divided into three sections, each offering insight into man’s relationship to himself, to others, and to nature. A focal point in Clark Park is the historical Charles Dickens statue. To honor the author’s memory, sections of the performance utilize inspiring quotations and brief poetry selections as music for the performers.
The choreographer Gauthier is a veteran of the fall Peoplehood puppet parade and pageant.
“Reactions Through Spaces: An Interaction” is a short dance piece, totaling 20 minutes in length. Its purpose is to give the audience a sense of inspiring joy as they move along their day while encapsulating the magnificence of the Park.
The event is free and open to the public as a part of the Friends of Clark Park events-sponsorship program. To sponsor the event, visit https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/253630313/reactions-through-spaces-an-interaction to pledge a donation on the event’s Kickstarter page. On-sight donations will also be accepted. All proceeds will go directly to the performers, and to the continuation of this project.
