Friends of Clark Park are having a General Membership meeting this Monday, July 18th, at 7 pm in Griffith Lecture Hall A at the University of the Sciences. All members are invited, and so is any park lover with questions, concerns, or ideas about Clark Park. We hope to see you there!
Friends of Clark Park are thrilled about City Council’s decision to pass the soda tax this week. In addition to providing funds for a universal pre-K program, the tax will bring in badly-needed revenue for Philadelphia’s parks, recreation centers, and libraries – to the tune of $300 million dollars!
Friends of Clark Park would like to thank the Council members who voted in support of the bill, including our very own Jannie Blackwell, plus at-large members Blondell Reynolds Brown, Allan Domb, Derek Green, Bill Greenlee, and Helen Gym. Thank you for standing up for Philadelphia’s underfunded parks!
Wet weather could not dampen the enthusiasm of park-lovers and beer-drinkers last weekend, as the Friends of Clark Park held their annual Party in the Park. Despite the occasionally inclement weather, bands played, beers were sipped, and memberships were renewed. Thanks to all who made this event possible!
Please note that the scheduled General Membership Meeting on April 18th has been postponed. The new date is Monday, April 25th, at 7 pm at the University of the Sciences, Griffith Hall Lecture Hall A. Bring your questions and concerns, and find out what’s happening in the park!
