It was a chilly day but the sun was shining as the Spring 2013 season of Clark Park Soccer kicked off on Saturday, March 23rd. Enthusiastic kids and dedicated coach volunteers filled the bowl with a rainbow of t-shirts.
There are still a few spaces available on our 6-7 year old and 7-8 year old teams for a few more players; the 6-7 group plays from 10:30 to Noon, and the 7-8 group from Noon to 1:30. If yo have a child who would like to play, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. More information about the Clark Park Soccer program can be found at http://www.friendsofclarkpark.org/?page_id=58.
Registration information and forms for the Spring season of Clark Park soccer are now available on our Youth Soccer page. Registration forms have been sent by “snail mail” and email to families who participated in the previous season.
We recommend mailing registration forms as early as possible; with the program growing in popularity, we cannot guarantee that there will be space left for walk-in registrations on the March 23rd.

The Red Hot Thunder Lava and their coaches!
Do you want to be a hero to neighborhood kids (and parents)? Clark Park Youth Soccer is looking for volunteer coaches for our Spring season. Clark Park Soccer is a recreational soccer program for kids ages 5 to 11 that takes place on Saturdays in the Spring and Fall.
You don’t have to be David Beckham or Hope Solo to volunteer as a coach — our coaches include many enthusiastic soccer players — many of them students from our local universities — but they also include parents and others who just enjoy working with kids. Would you like to spend your Saturdays in beautiful Clark Park, getting plenty of fresh air and exercises (and a cool t-shirt), and earning the adoration of our future soccer champs? Our teams practice and play on Saturdays, 10:30-Noon (5 to 7 year olds) or Noon-1:30 (8 to 11 year olds). Our season will start on March 23rd and continue through May 1th. We assign at least 3 coaches to each team with subs available — you won’t be out there alone — and will have a training session for coaches early in the season.
Interested? Email firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us a bit about yourself!
PS – If you’re interested in signing your children up for Clark Park Soccer, registration forms will be mailed to returning players, and will be available at http://www.friendsofclarkpark.org/?page_id=58 the week of February 25th.
With a record number of kids signed up (and a lengthy waiting list) all teams are closed for the Fall season of Clark Park Youth Soccer. Many thanks to all who helped out on our busy start-up day!
There is still space in all age groups for the Clark Park Youth Soccer program’s Fall season. If you’d like sign up your children, please send an email message to email@example.com with the names and ages of your children, then bring paperwork and payment with you to sign-in on Saturday. More information about our soccer program, and downloadable registration forms can be found at http://www.friendsofclarkpark.org/?page_id=58.
Sign-in/t-shirt pick-up will be at Rosenberger Hall (43rd Street just south of the basketball courts) on Saturday, September 22nd. Sign-in will begin for ages 5-7 (morning teams) at 10:00 am; families with children playing in the afternoon teams — ages 7-11 — are welcome to wait until 11:00 or 11:30 in order to avoid the early rush.
Families who have already registered will receive an email message or phone call by the end of this week with their child(ren)’s team assignments and a reminder about any additional paperwork or payment required.
Clark Park Youth Soccer still has space at all age levels — 5 to 11 — for more kids. We’d be very happy to have more girls to balance out the teams, so if there are any future Abby Wambachs or Alex Morgans out there, sign them up!
You can still download registration forms, but please do not mail them! Walk-in registration to fill the remaining slots on all teams will take place Saturday, March 24 beginning at 10 am, at Rosenberger Hall (43rd Street near the basketball court).
Look for more information about the soccer program, including our Spring schedule and fees, at our Youth Soccer page.
Registration forms are now available online for Clark Park Youth Soccer’s Spring season.
The season will run from Saturday, March 24th through Saturday, May 19th. Registration forms will be mailed to returning families, but you can also download and print the forms yourself. Mail-in deadline is March 5th; we will guarantee a place on a team for any child registered by that deadline and then will accept additional mailed and walk-in registrations as space allows. So be sure to mail your registration forms and payment early!
Clark Park Youth Soccer is a volunteer-run activity; to include as many children as possible, we need lots of coaches! Whether you’re a local student with mad soccer skills, or a parent who enjoys the Saturday morning exercise, we can use your help as a coach. Don’t worry if you don’t have coaching experience; we have training opportunities available. And we have plenty of volunteer opportunities for those who don’t want to coach — helping with registration, taking care of equipment, planning special events, etc. Just contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Since water and excessive mud in the Bowl forced us to cancel soccer last Saturday, we will still be taking some registrations this coming Saturday, 10/8. The 6-7 and 9-11 teams are full, but we have space for a few more 5-6 or 7-8 year old kids. If you’d like to register a child for one of these teams, please send an email to: email@example.com. We’ll process additional registrations on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 am; please come to the storage shed (green and white building on 45th Street across from Regent).
And keep your fingers crossed that we have a few days without rain!
Weather forecasts for Saturday morning are looking a bit gloomy — rain is predicted for most of the morning.
Even if it is too wet to play, we WILL be doing registration and check-in at Rosenberger Hall (43rd Street, just south of the basketball courts) on Saturday. Please come register or check-in and get your team assignments; that will give us a smooth start next Saturday (and no disappointed kids). Last season we filled all teams to capacity on registration day and had to turn away those who wanted to register the following week.
We’re busy processing registrations, but there’s still room for more kids.
If you haven’t sent in your registration yet PLEASE DON’T MAIL IT! Bring the registration forms and payment to walk-in registration on Saturday (see time and location below); if you can, email firstname.lastname@example.org with names and ages of the players — it will help us plan the teams.
If you’ve already registered, stop by registration on Saturday to pick up t-shirts and sign-up for parent help tasks (snack or field set-up/clean-up).
Registration will take place at Rosenberger Hall (43rd Street, just south of the basketball courts) on Saturday, September 24th, 10 am to 1 pm. We recommend that parents of 5-7 year olds come at 10, and parents of older children later in the morning to avoid waiting in line.
