Promotion

We kindly ask for your help in promoting our league! The more the merrier. Please consider sharing/posting the attached flyer among your circles. Feel free to forward this email as well to any friends or community members who might be interested.

Equipment

The goal of our league is for every child to have fun in their park and learn some things about soccer. That said, we do not have any required equipment. Shin guards can be helpful for comfort. Cleats are not necessary but are welcome. Each child will receive a team tshirt on the first day. Its helpful but not necessary that they wear that shirt while playing. Each child should bring a water bottle.

Weather

After the winter we have had, we hope to enjoy a beautiful spring. However, in the event of bad weather, a decision will be made by 8am Saturday morning and communicated via email. We do play in light rain and colder/warmer weather.

Team Assignments

We believe kids have more fun when they are playing with their friends. We try our best to put friends together on the same team. Please note any preferences for team assignment in the registration form. If you feel strongly that your child would benefit from being on a different team from another child, feel free to note that as well.

New Fee Structure

To simplify, we are shifting to a new fee structure. As a condition of participation, we require folks to be members of the Friends of Clark Park. As you'll remember this meant that once a year, you were required to pay the full year membership fee on top of the soccer fee. This tended to cause confusion as folks would not recall or be aware of when they last paid the membership. To simplify, we are shifting to a required 6 month membership. That means that each season you will pay either an individual or family membership fee. That fee is pro-rated for the shorter time period  - $15 for a single child and $30 for a family. If you are in need of "Soccership" please reach out.

Be a Sponsor!

Sponsoring youth soccer is a great way to benefit children & the neighborhood. We ask for a donation of $160 to sponsor for two seasons. You can print, complete, and mail this form to be a sponsor or email Soccer@friendsofclarkpark.org.

Children too young or too old for Clark Park Soccer?

There are a couple of local options. Cedar Park Neighbors is partnering with SoccerShots to offer a soccer clinic program for children ages 2 through 4.  Fairmount Soccer Association also offers programs for toddlers, as well as both intramural and competitive (travel) teams for older children.

Other options include the Palumbo Soccer Club, which offers both travel and intramural programs, and the Kensington Soccer Club which offers both summer and school year programs.
